They made me want to explore more of Pandora without relying on old mechanics. I fell in love with Rhys, Fiona, LoaderBot, Gortys and Sasha (I would have fallen in love with Vaughn too, but his voice actor is not a good person). There's even a hilarious scene with 'finger guns' that mocks the reliance on bullets of those games. I never thought we could tell a story in this world without guns to interact with it, but I was wrong and happy for it. Characters with actual personalities, goals, fears and evolution. Tales from the Borderlands gave me what I wanted. I mean, I love the old shootin' n' lootin', but I want a little more. In the main games of the franchise, I miss how the main characters don't have a real arc and how the backstory is relegated to audio logs. Even with assistance from a familiar face, and with a worryingly helpful Handsome Jack hitching a ride in Rhys’ head, getting on board the ominous ‘H’ is going to take every drop of guile, and quite possibly all the spunk you’ve got. What I like the most about the world of Borderlands is the colorful world and coloful characters. The beacon is on the Hyperion moon base (Helios), while our heroes are on Pandora… so there’s the pesky cold void of death known as ‘space’ to overcome. After being captured by Vallory and her goons at the end of Episode 3, Rhys and Fiona are now forced to continue the search for the Vault beacon – at gunpoint. We certainly left our unlikely heroes in a precarious position at the end of the last episode. Between psychos, spaceships, and a certain diamond gun-pooping pony, there’s a lot packed into this one! Today we can show you a few all-new screenshots from the episode for a little peek at what’s coming up. If you’ve been waiting to find out what happens in the penultimate episode of Tales from the Borderlands, you won’t be waiting much longer! Episode 4: Escape Plan Bravo is set for release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday, August 18th.
